Sovcomflot - awarded "The Seatrade Global Performer 2010"


  SCF (Sovcomflot) Group has become a winner at the annual Seatrade Awards of the eponymous British company – one of the world’s largest publishing houses and organisers of maritime exhibitions, conferences and training.
The 22nd award ceremony was attended by more than 300 representatives of the international shipping community. It took place in London on 24 May 2010, in the presence of Mr. Efthimios Mitropoulos, the IMO Secretary-General and the Chairman of the Jury of the Award, and Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope.
SCF Group was presented the prestigious award for “The Seatrade Global Performer 2010” “in recognition of its pioneering work with Arctic icebreaking tanker operations in harsh weather and ice conditions”.

While accepting the award Evgeny Ambrosov, Senior Executive Vice-President of Sovcomflot, noted in his brief acceptance speech that the prestigious award is a great endorsement of the performance of all Group employees, first and foremost the captains and the crews, working in the Arctic, of shore personnel, as well as the joint effort and cooperation of an international team (Lukoil, ConocoPhillips, Samsung and Aker, Lloyd’s Register and Russia’ s Maritime Register of Shipping) which has made year-round Arctic energy shipping a reality.

Seatrade Awards is one of the most prestigious and respectable awards in the world shipping. The first ceremony took place in 1988.
The acceptance of the award recognises the highest standard of the company’s performance and its achievements. The award is presented to those companies, organisations and people which have demonstrated innovation in their approach to enhancing the safety of navigation, protection of the marine environment and the efficiency of seaborne shipping, in compliance with the aims and tasks of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
